I’d Like to Order One Viral Sandwich Please

The FDA, stooping to a new all-time low, has now approved experimental viruses to be sprayed on food to kill bacteria.  And this is just the beginning, the company that produces these biotech wonder bugs, Baltimore-based Intralytix Inc, is planning all sorts of news viruses for our food supply.

A cocktail of six viruses will be spayed on processed luncheon meat, like turkey and ham, as well as chicken.  The goal is to kill a rare but nasty bacteria known as Listeria monocytogenes.  The company is also seeking FDA approval for viral sprays to treat foods that could be contaminated with E. coli and Salmonella, which means these viruses will end up in a majority of the protein foods in the food supply.

Medical Identification Chips are Coming

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey will conduct extensive testing of the implantable VeriChip in 280 patients.  The FDA would like a VeriChip in everyone’s arm.  However, in order to gain acceptance they will first work with chronically ill patients, get the bugs out of the system, and then try to implement the technology in our society.  They will try to claim this will help reduce the hundred thousand deaths per year from inept medical care.  This is part of a broad FDA agenda to electronically track all health information in an FDA-owned database.  As I explain in Fight for Your Health, this will include your DNA.

The FDA is Overwhelmed by All the Drugs it Has Approved

A new report in the Wall Street Journal shows that the FDA is unable to keep track of all the drugs it has approved.  The FDA’s approved drug list has risen from 36,000 drugs in 1990 to over 123,000 in 2005.  An insepction by the Department of Health and Human Serivces found that the directory failed to list 9,000 current medications and listed 34,200 that were no longer on the market or listed in error.  How can the FDA possibly keep track of adverse drug events when it can’t even keep track of the drugs?

Update:  On August 23, 2006 the FDA proposed a rule to require drug companies to file all information electronically and submit updates every six months.  While this is a good idea, in typical government style, it will take months before the plan is implemented.

Health Freedom Activists Question the FDA on Illegal Behavior

The FDA is actively colluding with foreign governments behind the backs of the American people and Congress.  In essence, the FDA is seeking to establish “Health Treaties” that will harmonize U.S. law with foreign countries.  The FDA has no legal authority to do this.  Members of Congress are getting upset.  The FDA has a lot of answering up to do!  Recently, a letter was delivered to the temporary head of the FDA, Andrew von Eschenbach, M.D., demanding an explanation.  It is simply hard to comprehend how out-of-control the FDA is, consistently acting in ways that undermine Americans, health freedom, and the right to be healthy.

The Unique Risks of Infants and the Unborn

Our society is woefully lacking in taking steps to protect the smallest of our citizens from extreme health dangers.  Exposure of the fetus to various forms of chemical or other forms of stress may easily damage the nervous system with lifelong consequences.  Likewise, infants are also at particular risk for harm.  The fluoride added to water and the rocket ignition fuel contaminant perchlorate are examples of powerful neurotoxins that are especially harmful to our smallest citizens (read Fight for Your Health for the full details).  Two new studies lend further credence to this important issue.  In one study it was found that ultrasound exposure of baby mice for a total of 30 minutes during pregnancy resulted in permanent malformation of brain cellsAnother study showed that exposure of infants in the Los Angeles area to higher amounts of air pollution doubled the risk of dying from SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).  Little bodies are trying to grow and develop.  We owe every person a fair chance at a healthy life.

Continuing the Life-Threatening Brain Experiment on Children

A new study confirms that antidepressants in children cause an elevated risk for suicide, more so than adults.  Children taking antidepressants may have a 15 fold higher increase rate of attempting and possibly committing suicide, compared to children not taking antidepressants.  The scientists have no clear explanation for the increased susceptibility to damage in the developing nervous system.  Even though the FDA has issued a black box warning, how can they allow such an experiment to continue?  I’ll answer more own question.  The forces in place that are giving out the medication, including our own federal government (as pushed by the Bush TeenScreen agenda) are far more concerned and obsessed with mind control of the population than with mental health of children.

Pesticides are the Source of Many Health Problems

Animal studies confirm that pesticide exposure damages the nervous system and digestive system. Of course, along with the immune system these are critical areas of development for any person seeking to grow up to be healthy.  When are the brain-dead bureaucrats going to clean up the environment and clean up the food supply?  Don’t count on the EPA to be of any help.  As their own scientists point out, the criminal companies that our poisoning our country and food simply hide behind the legal system.  Of course, the Bush administration does everything it can do to side with industrial polluters at the expense of human health (not that Clinton was any better).

Medical Errors Injure 1.5 Million

It is difficult to justify injuring 1.5 million Ameicans every year with drug errors, and these are just the hospital injuries, not the 1.6 million people that have to go to the emergency room every year with adverse drug reactions.  Researchers found that on average, a patient in a hospital setting is subject to one drug error per day.  It is no wonder that a doctor’s greatest fear is becoming a patient.  Even harder to grasp is the solution that will take another four years to computerize all prescriptions.  Whatever happened to daily competent work?  Are we to beleive that those in the health profession are nothing but bumbling idiots, injuring and killing their patients?  How competent could the diagnosis be in the first place?  Read report.

Exercise is Superior to Drugs

We have known for five years that an exercise program is superior to comprensive drug programs for cardiovascular care, in terms of reducing the rate of death.  Now we learn that two hours of physical activity per day reduces mortality in the 70 and over crowd by 69%, compared to a sedentary lifestyle.  It is fascinating that mainstream media is failing to point out that these results are far superior to the billions of dollars in drugs that are being forced on seniors.

The Imaginary Threat to Safety

One sign of sick governmental leadership is when politicans attack the wrong target, simply to divert attention from the real problems.  Such is the case with newly proposed legislation that will force supplement companies to report symptoms as adverse health events.  There are plenty of consumer safeguards already in place.  And, supplements are incredibly safe in the first place.  I think the drug sales scam that has destroyed the health of millions of Americans is about to come tumbling down.  In a desperate attempt to shift blame and confuse the public, despicable politicians add insult to injury.

A Strange Hundreth Birthday

Today, the FDA celebrates its hundreth birthday.  Harvey W. Wiley, M.D., is the man responsible for giving birth to the FDA.  Interestingly, he was trying to create a true organic food supply for the American population.  If he were alive today he would be appauled by the massive adulteration in our food supply.  In my article, FDA Celebrates a Hundred Years of Pretense, I explain how the organization that was supposed to protect our food supply has been hijacked by the very groups it was supposed to regulate - to the extreme detriment of health for Americans.

The FDA Undermines Citizen’s Rights

The FDA has been working on new drug labels that are suppose to make it easier for patients and doctors to understand how a drug works, its side effects, and how to take it – hopefully this would cut down on some of these unnecessary deaths.

What the FDA really has in mind is speeding new and dangerous drugs into the market, so that drug companies do not have to spend such a long time testing drugs for safety.  Instead, these new and powerful biotechnology drugs will be clinically tested on the American public.  In order for this campaign to be successful (from a drug company point of view), patients can’t be allowed to sue drug companies if they are injured.  The FDA, acting with the best of intentions on behalf of drug companies, snuck a disclaimer on the new drug labels that are to be released in July of 2006.  This disclaimer prevents any person who takes the drug from filing a lawsuit in state court.

This is concrete proof that the FDA has little interest in protecting the public and places a very high priority on protecting drug companies, and is even willing to set policy that undermines a citizen’s rights and supersedes established state law.

ADHD Medications Send Thousands of Children to the Hospital Each Year

It is amazing how the spin doctors who prescribe narcotic speed medication to children continue to defend it as safe and effective.  We have known for a while that at least 25 cardiovascular deaths have been caused by these drugs.  Now we find that over 3,000 people go the emergency room with extreme side effects, mostly cardiovascular.  Yet, the FDA refuses to place a black box warning on these medications, even though an advisory panel voted to do so.  The FDA acts more like a poorly run news reporting organization than a regulatory agency.  They are unable to regulate the drug industry due to the simple fact they are now owned by Big Pharma.

Big Brother DNA Collection Now Set to Begin

I warned in Fight for Your Health that our federal government plans to have the DNA of every American in its database very soon.  The first large scale project is now set to begin in 2008, backed by 2.7 billion in federal funding.  The National Institutes of Health and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia plan to collect the DNA of 100,000 children and track them for years.  While such projects may sound admirable and could produce useful information, the ultimate goal is to collect every citizen’s DNA and have it in a government database.  Of course, the Department of Homeland Security will have easy access, whether they are supposed to or not.

Numerous plans to collect DNA are popping up all over the place.  Kaiser Permanente, the big Oakland, Calif., health-maintenance organization, is developing plans to request DNA samples from its two million adult members.

This isn’t a science fiction movie – it’s your health and your rights.

Nerve Gas Poison Still in Widespread Use on Food

We have the Nazis to thank for developing nerve gas poison from coal tar.  We have the Rockefellers and multi-national agribusiness to thank for putting these poisons all over our food supply, creating a level of ingested toxicity in the American public over the last 50 years that parallels the increase in cancer.  Even when pinned down, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) drags its feet and fails to act, protecting only those who profit from this atrocity.  The EPA was given 10 years to evaluate the poison, and still can’t reach a conclusion.  What a joke.  Poison is poison.  Enough is enough.  We need to clean up our food and clean up our water.  It has been far too long that the poisoning of Americans through their food supply has been tolerated by government stooges.
