Fraudulent Scientific Studies
So often we hear how drugs are backed by solid science. The peer review system for drug company sponsored research is now in complete disgrace. Journals are afraid to offend some authors and penalize others for telling the truth or refuse to print important research. When drugs are involved, these journals have turned into the promotional departments of Big Pharma – and they know it! The New England Journal of Medicine made $697,000 selling over 900,000 reprints of a flawed Vioxx study they published, while 55,000 Americans died. The reprints were purchased mostly by Merck to use as drug promotion.
